Current Research
Humor and Postmodern Architecture
A continuing evaluation of the history and roll of humor in architecture, with a current focus on the early developers of postmodernism including but not limited to: Morris Lapidus, VSB, Charles W. Moore, Rem Koolhaas, Robert Graves, etc. with an eye on how thse trends persist in the work of current firms, i.e. FAT, WorkAC, MVRDV, (and Dutchness more generally). Though I am not a historian (nor wish to be) I am particularly interested in the very beginnings of the postmodern period before the development of historical/ironic dogmas that would ultimately calcify the once-promising movement.
